Australian opposition leader’s swimwear auctioned for £2000
A skin-tight swimwear worn by Australian opposition leader Tony Abbott in a publicized event last year was auctioned off at a cool tune of two thousand pounds ($3,500).
The pair of well-worn swimwear trunks worn by the official during a Sydney swimming race gained so much interest last year because Abbott still showed that he’s still in good shape.
The piece of clothing was featured in eBay and was open for auction. After the race, it was the owner of Bojangles Saloon in Alice Springs who clinched the swimwear after offering the aforementioned amount.
Saloon owner Avril Vaughan said that the amount that she paid for the item was too much just to “get into someone’s pants.” However, she said that auction process had been fun.
In an interview with the local media, Vaughan said that she herself is a Tony Abbott fan and added that Abbott still looks in tip top shape despite being 52 years old.
