Rugby is a very popular sport in some parts of the world and is also the national sport of some countries. Rugby enjoys a lot of popularity in the UK, France, New Zealand, Australia and some South American countries. Countries like Italy and Fiji have also been making a name for themselves on the International Rugby scene. There are a lot of International competitions and paramount among them is the world cup. The six nation tournament is also quite famous and the countries which take part in this competition are England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, France and Italy. This tournament is highly popular and also considered as a very prestigious one.

The six nation’s rugby tournament is the showpiece rugby event of Europe and is a keenly contested affair. The current champion of this tournament is the Welsh national team. The format of this tournament is quite simple with every team playing each other once and a very simple and easy to understand point system is used. 2 points are awarded for every win and one point is awarded for a draw. The venue and the host country keep on changing every year and every win in this tournament is termed as a grand slam. England is the country with the most number of wins in the six nations and Wales ranks a close second. Italy is the only country which has not won this tournament.
